Engine choice

Post by maverick »

Was just wondering what engines people would suggest to use instead of the A series? I know you can use the fiat twin cam but it is gettin a bit dated and I believe room for a radiator is an issue. If anyones got pictures of there engine bays aswell that would be fantastic.

Thanks
Tom

looks awesome mate. Looks like alot of work has gone into it. What car is the v8 from? What gearbox and rear axle? Sorry for all the questions.

Well you asked for it. Have also seen a 5.7 Chevvy in a Minor, complete with bug catcher . This resided in Heysham a few years ago. Sadly no pictures.

Basically, any engine can be made to fit in a Minor (that's a 3.9 Rover with BW 65 auto box with a jag IRS). You have to decide what you really want from the car when finished, and how much cash you can spend. I'd recommend buying one already done, and then personalise it. There is a twin turbo rover V8 one on the NRSA site just now for £3k.
If you don't want to go the full chassis route (really a requirement for a V8 ), then speak to Jonathon at JLH for some ideas of what can be fitted to the original engine bay.
