I was under the impression that the base plate on the series 2 seat was metal?
What year is the car? My Series MM seats are of similar construction though.

Mine is 1953, but I'm not sure this is an original setup. I was told that series 2 had 2 types of seats, one like MM and the other might be like mine, I hope....
The Series MM / early Series II seats had horizontal pleats, the late SII seats had metal bases and vertical pleats. I assume the change over came when the car was re styled.

Well Mr Gouder said he could do it... and I also think it is the best option since I was not very keen on tacking the back cover to the metal backrest.
And that is also why the Morris Company a few months later adopted this same system I think!!

A good idea - we seem to have loads of pictures of welding/underside replacement but not enough of the softer side! Perhaps we could all dig out pictures of various interior makeovers and submit them to the Webmasters so they could be put in Tech Tips for reference.
