Smoothed out bootlid.

Post by wanderinstar »

After doing the bonnet I thought I would start on the bootlid. I had 2 spares to play with. One was starting to rust all round the seam where the inner frame is fixed to outer skin, so that one became the donor. The other one had the usual rust at the bottom. So I thought I would remove number plate area first and if all went well I would then fit repair panels.

Donor lid.

This is where I am at the moment. Going to rub it down and put a couple of coats more paint on. Don't forget this is Rustoleum paint applied with a roller.

in my many thoughts of smooth bootlid, i thought about fitting something similar to the front mounting plinth and just have it hanging from the middle of the bumper, it is still an option but i'm not sure how it would look on mine as i have the brakelight in my bootlid...love what you have done though, very nice!

Fitting it on the bumper bar is not an option. There isn't one.

Yes that is in Custom and Modified section under Customising a Minor.
Hi Ian should this not be in that section as well, I can move it if you wish.

Thank you, and it's not finished yet. One more coat and then cut and buff up.
