I work for an upmarket sports car manufacturer and we have noticed of late that white is the new trend for expensive cars. So not only do you have a cracking looking car, but one with the latest upmarket look to it. :)

many thanks for all comments

well here is a bit of history

it was bought from a guy in eastbourne when new, he had it for about 35 years i think, was ziebarted from new, and was never touched except for a couple of small welding jobs for an mot
when i purchased it ( not telling the price oh well will do then £500.00 ) with a years mot, it was obvious it needed new wings all round
it was undersealed ( zeibarted from new ) and when i started to take some off found the original body colour underneath the inner wings

it still has all of its original floor and spring hangers and this are is still vey solid

it had to have a new cross member end and a new boxing plate and part of sill section on drivers side, lucky i had new old stock again, passenger is perfect and original

the boot floor was very solid and did not need any work

i had some new old stock wings i had had for a long time so therse went on, i also had a new old stock bootlid, the original one was dented and had some areas of rusting at the bottom

was able to keep the original front panels and valences, which i was pleased about as they fitted so well as with the doors

the interior is in excellent condition and the head lining is perfect

engine is a little tired as with the gearbox but are original to the car

all the chrome is in very good condition and is original except the bumper blades which were dented, so i have a new old stock front chrome bumper to go on

next weekend should have all the glass back in, bonnet and boot lid on, and then any minor bits sorted if i have any

i will be fitting the interior back myself

so for £500.00 the car would have gone on for years, wings may have been a problem, so was not sure what to do, any way took the plunge and there we are a nicely restored car still retaining many original features and charm

will not have another restored though, run out of panels :D :D

the car also came with the first 20 years service history, old mot`s, service book and receipts for some work done in the 80s

this will be my every day car hopefully

So what is the line I can see behind the wheel? is it a panel joint? or part of the wing? or part of the inner wing?

Ah, Phew! thanks for that, just been out to garage to check on mine! Its the same! looks like a flat panel in your photo tho, had me worried for a while, thought there may be something wrong with mine!!!! Hope all goes to plan and you get our interior done. Have you been counting how much it has cost you to get it to this stage? or are you like me and conveniantly forget to keep a running total!!!!!!!!!!!!!
