Inner sills
Im a bit concerned with the condition of my inner sills, new quarter panles are going on, but the sill is pretty bad, good enough to be safe, but is it okay just to hide away the bad sill, then waxoyl. Also i found out that welds on the qurter panels have to be continuous now, but does it matter if they are messy, as long as they are very strong. Thanks, Ben.

If you've got it apart, you might as well get it done now, and save time later. Surely it's worth it for the piece of mind and the knowledge that you shouldn't have to wield the welder again for a while.
Happy Minoring!

Hello Ben,
The inner sills are the structural part, the outer and cover sections add no strength at all. So you must be sure that they are sound. I'm not sure what you mean by quarter panels but if they require a continueous weld then they are structural. If the weld is "messy" how do you know it is strong? Good welds tend to be reasonably neat. It is difficult to see if you have good penetration if there is a lot of weld material on top.
