I work long hours so I like to relax on holiday and if it was a choice between youth hostelling whilst frequently wacking my fuel pump, or laying on a sun lounger by a pool being served mojitos by a bronzed young man there would be no contest
Same here - absolutely no contest. I've done the SSS and SSSS holidays but nothing beats taking a Minor across Africa whilst covered in dirt from yesterday's repairs. You can't have rally hair if you never look in the mirror (rather like calories on holiday don't count).
I'd much rather travel the world and see lots of interesting places, do interesting things and experience different cultures whilst I'm still (reasonably) young.
Ditto, except i'm not young anymore ;-)

where to break down next?

Well the last bit certainly applies to me, not sure about travelling across Africa in a Moggie though.
But I agree with Lou about her choice of holidays although personally I prefer bronzed young ladies.
I do have to take into account my better half's input when it comes to holidays and as we both like historical places and sites its nice to warm the bones at the same time and I have to confess that with the passing of time the more relaxing style of holiday in a warm climate does hold a greater appeal especially as we both would like to visit all the sites of the seven ancient wonders of the world but that is unlikely to ever be fullfilled.
Cheers

We too enjoy visiting historical places, and there are still a lot in the UK we haven't seen.

I'll get your slippers. I'm finding I would like to be more active. The thought of sitting on a beach does absolutely nothing for me, and heat makes me tetchy.

But having said this, wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same?

As there still seems to be considerable interest in this thread, and you may be only a nudge away from showing your interest in next years event, I thought I would post this short clip taken at Crich this year by Cam Shaw to help you decide

Announcement - Unfortunately due to my submission of an article and photographs detailing this years LEO Run to both Minor Matters and Minor Monthy, the new editor of Minor Matters (the Club magazine) will not be publishing the full article. Therefore if anyone is interested in reading the full story, they should read both the latest issue, and the next, of Minor Monthly.

Sorry.

Thanks for the offer Bill I prefer the slip on type but only for UK use.
And they are not much use on certain types of transport.

I would have been very happy with that, but it's because it's the same article .

If I have to buy Minor Monthly to read about MMOC club road runs then I'll have to consider why I'd bother paying MMOC membership money!

it's because it's the same article
That's a bit daft. I Really struggle to see the logic in that one.

Especially when you've put the effort in to organise it/write it up. It's not exactly a 5 minute job.

Where can I get Minor Monthly from?

Just to clarify this, here is an extract from the 'Notes for Authors'

"Copyright usually rests with the author. The typography (how the article is laid out on the page) rests with the magazine. Bear in mind that submitting the article to two different publications simultaneously could lead to an embarrassing situation. Articles submitted for publication in MINOR MATTERS should be of original, unpublished work, and are accepted on the basis that they will not be published in any other journal."

The full guidance for Authors and contributors can be found here...

You can subscribe on-line here:

http://www.minormonthly.co.uk/

Never seen it in any shops but you could perhaps get your local newsagent to order it if you want a hard copy.

Hello Bill

I am sorry to hear that, in the past, before I was editor of Minor Monthly I used to submit rally reports to both Matters and Monthly I just used diffrent images and wording!
In fact the LEO feature I had was massive as you know I have edited down so it will be totally different wording to what matters would use, so send different images and it should be sorted. I have to say I have no objections to using an article that was sent to Minor Matters and Minor Monthly as long as the images were different, and a variation on the wording

I have allocated 7 pages to an abridged version!

Hope you all enjoy it

If anyone is interested, here are a selection of the pictures I took on this year's LEO Run.

Actually, I took something like 1293 pictures + videos
