Is that the safety bands that you mean? If so it might be worth trying some caravan dealers as they are popular in Caravanning circles - made by Tyron IIRC

Welcome to the Forum! Generally 'banded' wheels are frowned upon these days - better idea is to fit wider rims from later wheels (ie Vauxhall 14") to the Minor 4" pcd centres. Some have done this - obviously the assembly and welding has to be to the very highest standard.

Hey bm thanks for the welcome. i have looked at a certain specialist wheel banding company on the web but i feel that the prices are way too high. i realize that it is very hard to band wheels as they need to be spot on but there must be more people around who can do it. I'll just have to keep looking and asking.

See if you can find the thread from Wanderingstar. He had a wider modern outer rim fitted to a Minor centre.
These style 'hybrid' rims are (or at least were) available from some of the Minor specialists.

thanks ray i did find that thread and it was very well done i must say. the problem is i have no welding experience or welding equipment so i cant even have a practice with the wheels. i see that they do occasionally turn up on ebay but it is rare.

Try looking for the Minor Development wheels, these were after market wider wheels.

The Scandinavian people have lots of them as well, but that is a wee bit further away I suppose!
