Does this mean that one cannot remove the hypothetical except as part of a block of three? Ie would one need to have three people willing to take on the responsibility of the three posts to remove the one hypothetical underperformer?rayofleamington wrote: However this method of re-election of 3 in a block does not allow for an easy replacement of any committee member that isn't performing (hyperthetcally speaking of course).

Which brings us back to the question of poor communication, a subject I brought up on a number of occasions at committee, and something that this site could readily assist with.
PS Not going to propose me then Mike

That depends on how much you want to put into it, it is not simply a case of attending committee meetings.Onne wrote:Just out fo the blue, but how much time would it normally take per month to be a committee member?
I was, and still am, willing and able, particularly now that I have taken early retirement, to actively contribute to the future of the Club.

Perhaps, although I would probably disagree. However what has to be considered is that these have to be funded by the memberships subscriptions.mike.perry wrote:Don't know but the expenses are pretty good!!!

Send me a PM Mike, although don't such proposals have to be notified to the Committee within a certain time prior to the AGM?mike.perry wrote:We'll discuss it at the next branch or liaison meeting. What post did you have in mind? .

Being a Committee Member (which goes with my position as Regalia Manager) the only expenses I get are a re-imbursement for petrol if I go up to collect the regalia from the Office in Derby, and I can claim for petrol to attend Committee Meetings. If I've entered my car for a rally, but am taking the regalia I dont claim any expenses for petrol, although in theory I could.
The expenses system was set up so all members from all walks of life could volunteer to help out, not just the ones who could afford to donate the petrol to get themselves there. The expenses are only "out of pocket". The Club is still run by volunteers to give their time gladly and freely.

I am sure the committee would advise you if requested to do so.bmcecosse wrote: Is this public knowledge ? And at what rate are these expenses paid - is this information available ?

Before everone goes madly applying for committee posts first consider what position you wish to apply for, do you have any experience in that position, can you commit the time and can you be of benefit to the membership?
