Sticking Door

Post by bloodyank »

Can't figure out why my passenger door sticks shut. It's not the latch.. in fact if it's closed gently it works fine. It's when the door is closed firmly it gets stuck really bad. It takes all my strength to get it open, banging from the inside with the heel of my hand.
I can't see where it's rubbing, if that's the problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks-
Dave

In order to solve this problem it would be most helpful if you could post a picture of the entire door in the shut position.

You need to decide if it's the latch that is not clearing - or is the door frame binding on the bodyshell after the latch has cleared ?

I'd take a guess that its the locating pin sticking in the eye on the door pillar. A spot of light grease on the pin may well cure it.

Or - if it is the pin - loosen it off v slightly - open and close the door - then retighten!
