In my experience, no. Certainly slower, but not a lot slower....The 948's are much smoother engines and I actually prefer our 948 over the 2 1098's.

Could also ask why I'm fitting a 1275 Turbo to the red one too :-)

Okay. Okay... I want a turbo now. On the plus side, it would make my fiesta seem blinding!

Your insurance quote is very high! Most only pay about £80 or so - I suggest you look around. But maybe it's your address - and if the car is not garaged at night ? I am very pleased with RH who include roadside assistance and recovery if required in that price. I think some of the others do too.

Well. I'm 21, with two years no claims... and it's not garaged at night. So I guess that explains the relatively high price... although, saying that the next best was £700 from HIC... and my day car is £600... so, it could be worse! lol

Also, this may sound silly, but can the 948 do 70mph?

A well maintained 948 should certainly be able to sustain 65 on a motorway, but remember they don't have disk brakes so you'll need to factor in more stopping distance. Ours has done 70, but its not as aerodynamic as a modern so its harder to control at speed.

Also, that was with a 6000 limit. So yeah, sounds about right. :D

Quite possibly downhill with a trailing wind but I doubt very much YOU would want to be doing it for long :-)

Don't worry mate - there are lots for sale. Just look on ebay and you'll see 20 - 30 cars at any one time. Local papers and free ads are also good places to look and remember private ads will most likely be cheaper than dealers.....

Hmmm, still sounds a bit steep. Mines with HIC at £200 (albeit an a 3000 mile policy  ) 24 with no ncb due to a currently outstanding claim (which seems to make me a TERRIBLE risk to most companies!) its now out of the insurance system and the git has got no win no fee vultures involved.
