Clutch Fluid

Post by MColes »

May seem like a novice question. But I am a novice

How do I check the level and top-up the clutch fluid?

Well, this is one thing you dont have to worry about!! No fluid, its all mechanical. When your underneath changing the engine oil or greasing the suspension just puts a few drops of oil on the clutch rod linkage to keep it moving freely.

If you've got clutch fluid, you must have an after market arrangement. Usually these have a plastic tank connected to the clutch master cylinder with a hose, so it's a case of removing the top of the tank and topping it up.

I can't see anything and was wondering if it was a mechanical arrangement ("yeah yeah" they say of course you were )

Cheers for the help :D

I can see where you're coming from if you're used to working on Mini's though :)

It's actually not my mini in my Sig. It's a mates (I just thought they looked good together so used the pics for my sig :D). But I have become more accustomed with mini mechanics than I have moggy mechanics over the past few months

It rather annoys my mate that I have a car 35 years older than his and I've had no problems (touch wood) compared to his which keep mounting up.

The dripping engine oil should take care of clutch linkage lubrication!
