Suggestion for a new messgae board for moving stuff around

I wondered if members would be interested in setting up a new message board to help transport parts etc around the country and avoid postage and courier costs.

I see it working like this. With many people travelling all over the country it would be possible to log a request on the board for exampleto see if anyone is travelling from Leeds to Plymouth that could take some parts with them. The onus is for the "seller" and "buyer2 to make the arrangements and to deliver and collect to a local point.

I have heard that other clubs offer this arrangement and with lots of members then this could be worth looking at or even giving it a try. I thought a new board would be useful so that such requests are easy to see. the posting title should include collection and delivery points and the date.

any views?

down side would be trying to liase with everyone involved and time as well i guess

Good idea -and certainly sometimes there is no great hurry for the parts to be moved. Would also encourage members to meet each other and get to know the faces behind the on-screen names.

along the same theme would it not be possible for a nexwork of parts exchanges to be made via branch meetings e.g area ONE to area Two etc <br>

Have been doing this for many years now - usually to and from Sadmog lot, as I used to go to Salisbury fairly often, sometimes with Bristol lot (mainly Pyoor kate b4 she moved) but since then also via Wanderingstar and Alex holden.

Would be good to have a dedicated topic topic area. I can see it being very well sed prior to big rallies and web rallies

very very good idear im just back from germany , iraq, then may be soon afgain but me thinks no one want parts out to the last 2 lol but traveller a bout a lot

Great Idea Heard of a courier who swapped parcels at the local border between areas and he was really cheap though it could take a week for the parcel to arrive.

is this going to happen or swept out the way i did sugest a was it you as well but nuthing came of it
