Can you decide what capacity the engine is -from plate on side of block, or number (eg 950) cast in the block ? Otherwise - take rocker cover off and see what cylinder head casting number is revealed.

The picture shows the upside-down oil filter. In UK RWD engines that was only on the Marina engine (1275).
The dizzy clamp looks like standard A-series so it's an early 1275 Marina not the later A+ engine.

where to break down next?

Correct! I didn't realise there was a picture. Well worth the $5.

Yes that's a Marina engine. Flywheel is missing. Quite a lot more complicated to fit in a Minor than a Spriget engine but I'm sure that someone on the web can supply fitting instructions.

4 extra holes required IIRC to adapt it to the 6 hole pattern.

Is it possible to use the Marina flywheel and clutch in the bellhousing?

If you want all 6 bolts (and I think you should!) - then yes, 4 extra holes. Marina flywheel is larger diameter and starter is in a different place - so no it won't go on a Minor gearbox.
