Yes, it's connected through the ignition switch!bmcecosse wrote:Well if it's volts (well spotted MT) then sounds like it's working ok.
Note - voltmeter must be connected through the ignition switch - because it draws current all the time to get the reading, and so will flatten the battery overnight!

Back again
Now that those two (actually 3) leads off regulator were disconnected my windshield wipers and turn signals no longer work.
Don't know if this was something that the mechanic may have done "fixing' other things prior or if this occured after I disconnected the wires.
Electrical is not my forte. Both were working fine recently.
Any thoughts?

Reattached those wires and initially no wiper or blinkers.
Now I see that if wind is blowing in the right direction
wipers occasionally work. Think I just need to spend some time under the dash with contact cleaner.
On another note (purists look aside). Thought it was a brilliant idea to put a '59 -'67 VW bus gas tank (because they're cheap brand new and fit) with sending unit in my truck without thinking that gas gauge wouldn't work.
Went to VW parts and got a rebuilt '67 Karmann Ghia gauge (same depth sending unit). Will install this week.
