Just bought a '68 traveller, and wondered the best way to treat the wood...
The woodwork is in quite tidy condition, and I don't really want to go over the top trying to make it look concours, I just want to give it some new protection. It will be used regularly all year round, although will hopefully be garaged most of the time (I need to do some tidying first...).
Is it OK just to lightly rub down the existing topcoat and give it a few new coats of varnish (bear in mind that I don't know what it's presently treated with)?
I've read the stickied guide, and ideally I should go back to bare wood and apply preserver, but I don't have the time at the moment, and just want to get make sure it's protected over the winter.
