Wolseley Rear Brakes

Post by wanderinstar »

This is a question for anyone out there with the above. When I fitted mine I tweaked the bracket that the outer cable bolts onto, as the inner cable came out at an angle due to different backplates. As one of the cables has chafed through (obviously not tweaked enough) I am going to have to do a modivication of some sort to get inner cable to come out in line with outer. Has anyone else had this problem??

Can't remember Ian - I did have these excellent rear brakes on my Rally Minor - but that was 40 years ago now ! I don't remember having any problems with the cables, I thought they just connected up same as the Minor ones - I do remember the brakes would easily lock the back wheels with the handbrake lever - excellent for spin turns ! Are they definitely W brakes - not Riley ?

Definitly Wolseley Roy. Took the front and back off a 1500 a few years ago. Can't remember what happened to the fronts though :D
