Wheels
My Morris has Marina wheels fitted. I have been lookig at buying some TR7 Wheels or MGF wheels ut most seem to be 15inches. Will these fit the Morris OK or will they cause any problems with the handling of the car? Has anyone else done this if so would you have photos?
Thanks, Jeff
Thanks, Jeff
TR7 wheels are originally 13", sorry - size 13 - but the Wolfrace alloys on mine are size 14. Dolomite Sprint etc wheels would also fit but again are only size 13. Some Maestro and Montego models had size 14 wheels with the same 3.75" pcd and would also fit - but their designs are a bit 'dated'! MGF wheels were all size 15 until the later TF models which have size 16 wheels. I think Callyspoy has MGF wheels on his Marina axled Minor - and certainly GAS has MGF type wheels on his Marina axled Traveller. Obviously they fill the wheel arches up rather more!

Most montegos had 14" steels. These are available usually for pennies - or a few quid if the tyres are legal. I know of a few people who've used them - Try Matt Harris on this forum, although maybe it was Dan his twin (my memory is attrocious)
I've yet to see a Minor that looked ok using old Triumph wheels. MGF wheels tend to be overpriced!
Being 15" compared to 14" makes no difference to height of the car - it depends on what profile and width the tyre is (i.e. what the outside diameter of the tyre is).
You can choose a tyre that gives the correct outside diameter as long as it is a suitable width for the rim.
I think what Roy meant by filling the arches was based on the WIDTH of the tyre, not the diameter.
