Choice of interior colour

Hi,
A friend of mine has 1957 minor in black, it has green interior. Looked it up in the restoration manual and it says betwen '56-'60 the interiors in the black minors either came in red, green or grey.
Was this given as a customer option when ordering the car or was it just pot luck as to which one you got?

I must admit I'd never seen a black minor with green interior until my friend bought his a few months ago.

Was it always black? ie, is the chassis number FAA11 or FBA11 ?

Just checked... The only Black 57's with Green interiors were Travellers.... So Chassis number would start FLA11

This is the late 50s 1000 models so the chassis numbers would start MA and wouldn't indicate the colour. My friends one is a 2 door saloon

SMM numbers finished in April 52. A 57 car would be as I said above..... M chassis numbers started in 58.

No prob Andy. Post up the first section of the chassis number and I'll tell you year/spec etc....
