There's 2 sets in my garage... need new cylinders but can be converted to Minor cylinders.Still hasn't answered my question if Wolseley brakes are still available and if so where? Or is that a closely guarded secret?
Shoes can be relined with parts off the shelf. Drums and cylinders are (were) available new last time I checked. They were certainly not at Morris Minor prices though!Maybe Ray can help, he says.......

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Sorry I can't remember the trader I found 18 months ago - he had new drums for sale. I suppose they could have been old stock but as they are a common wearing part I didn't expect so.

I haven't yet heard of the Wolseley boys baying for our blood for nicking their braking bits, but the Marina guys... how do they feel about us nicking their "downgrade" disc setups! (runs for cover closely behind Mr Ecosse)So, when you have stopped raiding the limited spares available for the true Wolseley enthusiasts and the drums, cylinders, shoes etc are no longer available, what will you do then ?

There is no debate though Dennis.
Some say standard Minor drums are fine for the standard car, some wish to improve these with bigger drums. No probs here, logical but does undermine the argument that the standard set up is adequate. But then we are dealing with the individuals personal preference.
Discs are the most accepted way today to upgrade the Minors braking, by their very nature the fitting kits are more complex and expensive than a simple large drum exchange.
The only reason I entered into this thread (I would'nt have had the postings concerning the earlier controversey been left as they were rather than the somewhat disjointed affair that we are left with) to address the constant untruths about fitting discs (not their abilities v's drums) as this could be confusing members of this site should they be trying to make an INFORMED choice.

I only asked if there was a source of Wolseley brake assemblies available as I wanted a little improvement in the braking capabilities of the Traveller when I was towing a trailer. Didn't mean to start a war.

Right then, Ive just successfully converted one side to Wolseley brakes. Before i commence on the other side, would it be an idea for me to take plenty of photos and produce a step by step guide which could then be posted as a sticky on here for general use and guidance to everyone?
Ultimate rust cure for your moggy....paint it brown, at least that way you dont notice the rust as much!!

That wasn't actually his only hopeyour only hope is a set on ebay unless you can source through a Wolseley Club

I think that would be great - Especially as Mike Perry now has some 9" front brakes ;-). Before i commence on the other side, would it be an idea for me to take plenty of photos and produce a step by step guide which could then be posted as a sticky on here for general use and guidance to everyone?
