fitting midget disc brake

could someone help i was talking to my local scrp merchant and he told me he had a set of disc brakes for a 1970 MG Midget that would fit on my morris minor is this true or is there a conversion that i need to do.

you definately can't just bolt them on.........

Hello MM,
Yes you can keep the Minor wheels, they fit the midget hub just fine.
What you need to do is fabricate a plate to which you can bolt the calipers to and which attaches to the Minor upright. It is completely different to the Midget upright.

Be cautious, try out this setup first if you can as I have come across 2 or 3 owners who have used the Midget Disc setup and its not as good as either the Marina or Sierra setups as the Midget was a much lighter car and they found it rather dissapointing.
The Morris Minor centre Birmingham still sell it as an alternative kit.

Maybe you can buy a conversion plate from them to go with your "scrappy" bits...
