New website for eBay watchers

Post by sjj »

Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know about a new website I've put together for those who like to scour the Moggy auctions on eBay.

Morris Auction Watch filters and sorts Morris items of interest on eBay UK, USA, Canada and Australia by category (Cars, Spares and Books) and model (currently from Cowley through to Ital). It tries to pre-empt the varied way in which some sellers list items by including filters for common mis-spellings ('Morris Miner', anyone?) and variations (Traveller, Traveler).

Perhaps its biggest plus at present is for those for whom eBay is blocked at work - you will be able to use Morris Auction Watch to browse items, if not check out the actual listing... during your lunchhour, of course ;)

The site is fairly bare-bones at the moment but I'll be adding to the basics of the site in the coming weeks, such as common category searches (e.g. click on "Panels" and it will show you all Minor auctions for body panels - bonnet, wings, doors, grilles etc, and similarly for "Steering", "Brakes" et al). If you have any other ideas of functionality that would be useful to you, please let me know and I'll do my best to incorporate it into the site.

Best Regards,
Steve

Thanks for the positive comments! As promised (although it's taken me longer than I expected) I have fleshed out the site a bit, adding some more interesting and unique features. There's a local Morris for sale search, as well as one for local parts as well - you plug in a postcode and it will plot any matching listings on a map - as well as a few other more varied searches... enjoy!

Thanks for all the thumbs up. If you have any ideas for new searches for the site, let me know. Next I am planning to create a section for Minor parts divided up into much more focused categories (e.g. "body panels", "interior trim", "cooling system" etc) because at the moment it's hard to casually browse 900+ parts unless you really know what you're looking for! Thanks, Steve

Anyone else noticed this website has stopped working properly?

Dean, thanks for the heads up. The site stopped working because eBay ditched its "Morris Parts" category a month or so ago. I honestly didn't think anyone still used it, so I am flattered it still has a little bit of support! I've fixed the site so it should once again be listing UK parts correctly.

Thanks
Steve
