SSK 944 AND DRX 146 WHERE ARE YOU?

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE LOCATION OF MY LATE FATHERS OLD CARS.
SSK 944 IS A FOUR DOOR MINOR IN LIGHT GREY DRX 146 IS A MORRIS 8 IN DARK BLUE, I HAVE TRIED ALL WAYS TO FIND THEM EVEN THROUGH THE DVLA BUT THEY CANNOT GIVE ME INFORMATION,
THEY WERE BOTH RESTORED BY MY LATE FATHER (JOHN ROBERT APPLETON) MANY YEARS AGO.
I HAVE TRIED FINDING THEM FOR MANY YEARS NOW
PLEASE HELP I CANNOT THINK OF ANY OTHER WAY OF FINDING THEM AND AM ABOUT TO GIVE UP.

They are both still registered with DVLA but neither have been licensed since 1998. Thay may be in someones garage somewhere or could have been scrapped. DVLA won't give you history unless you own the car you are tracing so the only way is to hope you get lucky and that someone on here knows where either of then are....

the other minor with the morris 8 i have found in a scrap yard and am restoring at present this was my fathers first minor its in a right state.

That actually looks quite solid and shiny for having come out of a scrapyard- you should see my projects! ;-)

you should see what the last owner did to it underneath nearly every panel was replaced with 1mm sheet cut from old shelving units then tacked and siliconed around edges its a nightmare

its not too bad i suppose its next on the list to do ive been very good and not started it until i finish the minor im on with now, but found another one in a scrap yard about two miles away the other day, it just drove in on the morning i went. its only problem can you believe was the fact the owner lost the log book for it and could not be bothered anymore. its lovely will sort pic out.

Sounds like a great find. Also impressed you're so committed to getting your family classic(s) back on the road. Nothing wrong with nostalgia at all when there are personal memories involved.

I would love to find a Triumph Stag that was registered as FD 08 in the 1970s - it got my interest going in exotic cars like Stags, and of course Minors....

remember if teh DVLA havent had it registered since 1998, it could have emmigrated over here.

it just drove in on the morning i went. its only problem can you believe was the fact the owner lost the log book for it and could not be bothered anymore. its lovely will sort pic out.

yeah never thought of that, the fact it has not been on the road for 10 years is a bit of a problem, i have thought about putting a small ad in prctical classic magazine or similar.
can anyone else advise what i can do?

pictures like the one above inspire me to get my dads restored.
im just on finishing a complete rebuild on my first minor now but im not too sure about the paint i chose, the wife says it looks a bit dog pooish im not oo sure myself now as she is the knower of all things.
will take a pic tommorrow

That looks like Maroon B to me and one of my favouite colours, I always think the minor looks better in a darker colour. The 2nd one I restored was rose taupe and I had it resprayed maroon. I sold this one about 13 years ago and and it still looks great, took this pic at a rally earlier this year.

I wish I had a garage like yours!! Looks MASSIVE

pleased you like it, wife still hates it but its mine anyway. im very lucky that i live on a farm im in the middle of converting the barn that you see in the picture i do have another garage on the side of the house too but its got my landrover 130 and my bowler wildcat in and a woodchipper (im a forestry contractor) the barn is getting full too now, it has three morris minors a ford mustang and a 1969 dodge charger in there now. lots of toys. love the picture its lovely

forgot the MGBGT sebring replica, this is the picture of the minor i got from the scrap yard that had no log book not bad for £50 very solid only needs a bit of tlc on the body work promised it to my little girl she only has 14 more years until she is old enough to drive it.

Have now been told SSK 944 is somewhere in Darlington/Stockton area if anyone lives close please keep an eye out (please please).
Have been in touch with Morris Eight owners club and DRX 146 is somewhere near Malvern in Worcester owned by a doctor/teacher.
