Should be 1.05 a litre this time next year if the annalists have it right. US economy is shrinking which reduces demand. I think the World realised that oil at $148 a barrel was not sustainable, as it caused major inflation. A couple of groups are still saying $200 a barrel is possible, but that would be a killer blow for the World economy as a whole, so I don't think it will happen.

I've helped tow people 1000km across 2 countries on mainly dirt tracks so for a mere 15km I wouldn't have needed to be asked twice (actually I look forward to it!)
you're right there, but on the other hand, I had a spare clutch linkage rod, split pins etc, in the boot :D I'd have quite happily donated that. (presuming that was the offending item).

I was surprised (and quite heartened) at how quickly gloves, exhaust paste, bandages (and good advice) appeared when I stopped to sort my manifold out. Thanks to everyone for that  .

I hear what you're saying Ray about campsites. We stopped at some great ones both there and back, but I was glad of the Youth Hostel at Kirkwall! Though slightly less glad of the noisy school trip we shared a corridor with

I think we got around the 42MPG, but haven't been able to find all the log to do a full calculation. It shows some interesting peaks and troughs though, with a record low of 34mpg at one point :o

Well I could get a week in the Caribbean for not much more than a week in rain lashed Scotland :-? I work long hours so I like to relax on holiday and if it was a choice between youth hostelling whilst frequently wacking my fuel pump, or laying on a sun lounger by a pool being served mojitos by a bronzed young man there would be no contest

Oh I do do things. I sightsee, read, swim and put sun lotion on
I just prefer to do things when it's warm and sunny. No point in spending a week with 'rally hair' if you can avoid it!

A 37 page post on the LEO run has the same effect on me
Why?
Well I think most people would prefer sun to rain given the choice. I don't think it's too unusual :-? As for the rally hair, if you saw it you'd know why

Oh, you were so uninterested that you read all 37 pages then

I have tried SSS holidays, but have you tried the LEO?

Come on Lou, surely you're not ready for that dressing gown, slippers and hot chocolate already. Let your rally hair and join us next year

I really can't stand holidays that involve lounging around in the sun. Touring around seeing interesting things in the rain is much more fun! :D

Each to their own :D I'd much rather travel the world and see lots of interesting places, do interesting things and experience different cultures whilst I'm still (reasonably) young.

No - that's why I like hot climates

........ and not know Britain at all :( I did a fair amount of 'world travelling' with my job, but I was always pleased to come home.

However it would be a sad world if we didn't all have our differing likes and dislikes

Well I travel all over the UK for my job so it doesn't feel like a holiday if I stay in the UK

As it seems that there are still a lot of people viewing this thread, I thought I would post another picture. This time taken at Crich from the top of a tram.

Ive thought about doing the LEO, but the thought of driving all the way down to Lands End to come all the way back puts me off a bit. Could I join in from Lancs.?
