I have a series 2 and mine are horizontal, (they're not for sale though) ;). They look nothing like the one in the piccy.

I've got a pair of MM seats without covers which are going spare. They were in my 'just in case' or 'may be useful' pile for my own MM rebuild but I don't think I'll need them. I'll try and get a photo today.
cheers
Iain

Yep , same seats as mine (but 4 door version). Thanks louise. Mine must be one of the very very early series II, which is nice to know. :)

Hi Dean

Series 11 carried on with the MM style seats until October 1953 - mine is May '53 & has them.

Dean, The earliest Series IIs would have had the same interior as the last Series MMs. Morris Motors had a habit of updating one thing at a time. Have you got the Morris back axle?

I have a rear axle on the car yes, if that's what you mean. Recently degreased, wire brushed, painted and refilled with oil. I do have the MM dashboard and clocks in it, with the gold coloured covers. It has a smiths heater and a passenger sunvisor too, which I think was an extra back then. It was fitted with a goldseal 803cc at some point as this is what's in it at the moment.

The Morris back axle is the one piece square diff casing unit not the type fitted to the M1000 with the removeable diff.

Just checked my manual and I can confirm it is the old square type. :)

A lot of people considered the MM seat more comfortable than the later ones!
