A couple of months ago i had my gearbox completely rebuilt, as gear teeth had gone. It has been fine until recently, it sounds perfect on the flat but if the engine starts labouring up a hill and i drop it down to 3rd it makes an awful buzzing noise that seems to get louder and louder until it returns to the flat. it happens only in 2nd and 3rd gears. Any Ideas? Could it be the oil?
Thanks
Tom

Likely to be the anti rattle 'o' ring on the bottom of the gearstick ball, or anti rattle spring and plunger that pushes against the gearstick. Both easily checked with the box in situ. Buzz always shows in 3rd gear due to position of the gearstick when it's in 3rd gear.
