When I was at the UK National rally I knew my drivers headlight didn't work properly. It worked fine in full headlight mode but not dipped. As its the sealed unit type I was told to simply buy a new one, which I did and fitted and it worked great - until this weekend
It seems that this new unit is repeating the fault of the original one - the dipped beam doesn't work, but the full does. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the fault ? I was told it might be loose wires in the loom

Follow the wires from the headlight bowl, through the inner wing, and you will find a bunch of push in sleeved terminal connectors for the lights. These will be dirty/corroded as will the bullet connectors that plug into them. Clean them all up, and coat inside with Vaseline, job done.
Brill I'll give it a go and see what happens. Hopefully it'll solve the problem.

But it could just be that the DIP filament has failed - some of these sealed beam units are quite old - even though 'new' stock. Test it out before going looking for faults.
