1275/803 gearbox

I am going to treat Morris to a Midget 1275 engine / gearbox transplant.
He currently has a 948 gearbox with the rear half of an 803 box ie retains the long gearstick.
Can this same conversion be done with the midget gearbox?

Your thoughts gentlemen please!

Callum has indeed done it - but it was not straightforward! Involved some special 'machining' as I remember!

The usual conversion is a 1098 box with a 803 gear lever. The best person to speak to is John Evans who carries out the conversion. His tel is 02392 465256. Advert on P. 20 Minor Matters. I am informed however that spares for 1275 boxes are in very short supply.
