I have bought replacement plungers today, and they are much larger than I imaginied them to be. I don't think I dropped the originals in the hole, and will probably fit these new ones soon.

No rattles when I drove her today, probably after I packed the inerts with lots of grease.

Cheers for the help,
Chris

Chris,
I presume you did the o-ring too? With plungers and o-ring it really does transform the car! My first Minor was appaling until I replaced the o-ring. Anyway - glad to have been of assistance :-D

Thanks Ray ... that rattling noise has been driving me nuts (Yarr), now at last I'll be able to drive with both hands on the wheel!

Yes, got that too, the original one was terrible.

Just have to fix all the other rattles now! Windows, heater, door pulls, parcel shelf, tappets, and countless others!

Cheers,
Chris

Here we go:

So this pirate walks into a bar, and he's got a steering wheel shoved down the front of his trousers.

The bartender says, "Sir, did you know you have a steering wheel down the front of your trousers?"

And the pirate says, "Yarr, it's driving me nuts!"

*hangs head in shame*

Yeah, so anyway, back to rattling gearsticks...
