I have bought replacement plungers today, and they are much larger than I imaginied them to be. I don't think I dropped the originals in the hole, and will probably fit these new ones soon.
No rattles when I drove her today, probably after I packed the inerts with lots of grease.
Cheers for the help,
Chris

Chris,
I presume you did the o-ring too? With plungers and o-ring it really does transform the car! My first Minor was appaling until I replaced the o-ring. Anyway - glad to have been of assistance

Here we go:
So this pirate walks into a bar, and he's got a steering wheel shoved down the front of his trousers.
The bartender says, "Sir, did you know you have a steering wheel down the front of your trousers?"
And the pirate says, "Yarr, it's driving me nuts!"
*hangs head in shame*
Yeah, so anyway, back to rattling gearsticks...
