You'll still be looking at 65 at the wheels which is good for a 1275, never mind a 1098

I think I'll be doing mine myself (the build) and get the head skimmed/bores done etc professionally. Same with the gearbox - not done a gearbox before, so that should be interesting. I'm better with V8 builds, but the A series should be simpler (if smaller).

I too am better with the V8s but my friend can gets ome amazing results so I usually give them to him to do.
Ive never done a manual box so would be of no help there im afraid.

Does it have all the engine suspension mods? I'm guessing it does if it races in the Historic Race Series. Very Very nice.

Yep its the real deal.

It was really nice, it ended up having a complete hidden roll cage put in. They did a very nice job of it too.

Well I actually have 2 of them. The other one is in a 1000 bits as ive been modifying the front end for its V8. Its gone very well as I now have the 1966 Ford 289 V8 and C4 auto box mounted with great success. The rear axle is going in next week.

I like them.

Nah, I reckon a 429 might make it a bit nose-heavy. The SBF is actually quite light for an iron blocked V8. If you fit alloy heads, it'll work out about the same weight as a Pinto.

It would be a bit more as a Pinto weighs in at 150kg and the SBF comes in at 210kg. Its not a huge amount but most people think they are really heavy. OK the 429 comes in at just over 300kg!!! LOL

A SBF is a more than do-able conversion for a lot of cars due to the overall size and not over doing the weight.

I wouldnt even bother spending money on the 289, just not worth it unless I intend to take it on the strip.

I had a Morris Oxford with a V8 in recently, but decided to go back to more stock cars for the next project
