Prepping for a long road trip

Kevin-Do I miss the V8s and other classics? Well, yes, but until I came here I didn't really know how much fun a car could be! So, let's say I appreciate any classic, but I find the British classics to be my favourite.

Mary-methinks he meant to drive a LHD car instead...if he meant to actually change my Morris from a RHD to a LHD then I think he now is mad!

Ray-Thanks for that advice. I actually do have a spare fuel pump, so I'll test it and make room for it. And I'll pick up a filter and bring the the wire coat hangar...I already have the blanket.

My moggy's also a fen baby, spent all her life in southern Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire... never saw rising ground until last summer, when I did a slightly circuitous 750 mile round trip to Whitby and back. Up hill, down dale, no prior preparation, heavily loaded. Completely unprepared, no more than my "usual" spares and tools, and not a hitch

If she's in good order, and relatively recently serviced, I can't see why you'd especially have any problems (dangerous last words, I know!) - certainly sounds like MattRuch needn't worry overly (tuned *and* greased...blimey!).

have just printed out the Ryanair boarding pass to get me there, & dug out the passport... how much is unnleaded petrol these days in UK ?(and PLEEZE don't just say EXPENSIVE w/wo expletives!)

All-
I have arrived in Stuttgart with absolutely no dramas. Some of the hill climbs in Belgium slowed me down to about 45 mph, and there was an incredible rainstorm for about 125 miles of the journey, but the old Moggie had nary a burble, hesitation or misfire.

Glad you had a safe and uneventful journey - Moggies will always get you where you want to be they just take a bit longer!
