I have 2 saloon ones but no van ones.

Could your tank be welded?

If filled wih water It 'might ' be possible to weld it. But the petrol in the split could affect the weld quality.

A friend of mine had a leaking fuel tank on a fiat 126 due to corrosion he couldnt find a replacment anywhere so sent it off to a company who welded it then filled it with some kind of resin to line the tank which when set formed a second skin inside it. I dont know the company name though but I think they guaranteed the tank for the life of the car or somthing like that

Rustbuster (they who sell Dinitrol) have tank cleaners and sealers. Pour it in, slosh it about, pour out the excess and leave it to dry for 24 hours.

Im getting in Early. Can I suggest a pub quite a lot more Easterly than normal?

2 Suggestions,

The Ship at Langstone (literally just off the road to Hayling) but with a large car park. Would be excellent sitting by the sea on a nice evening

http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/ ... /Langstone

or

The Golden Lion, Southwick. Not quite so easy to get too, but apparently serves excellent beer from "Southwick Brewhouse" the local micro-brewery

http://www.britishpubguide.com/cgi-bin/ ... ire:100738

If its nice I vote for the Ship.

I don't know if I'll be able to make those, they're at least 35 miles for me. That's a long way on a school-night.

I'll see how things are on thursday but I may need those two gallons of petrol before payday.

Not for long though i bet
I'll get that carb set up properly then nothing will stop me.

Seriously though, I don't know if they filled up before they left but they had to pop into the fuel station at Poulner - that would be 80 miles to a tank. :o

so which of the two new pubs are we going to try?

I'd vote for the golden lion (yes its a bit closer to home)

thanks for all the advice on tank repairs, think its easier to just get a new one and do a straight swap, rather than mess about with 20 quids worth of chemicals in the hope it might work!

Hi all, I am happy to go anywhere really; dog friendly would be good so that Jess can come along. I would be happy with the Golden Lion but would also be happy with somewhere more peps could get too. I am still in Alton so no where is that close for me but I am used to that.... :D

More parts scrounging: anybody got an abutment bracket and spacer for a HIF44? Both are nearly £20 new!

EDIT: Oh, and an early-style heater tap...

If you mean the golden lion then ive been in there when dogs have been in the bar. Dont know if that was just a local thing tho.
Great pub and well worth the trip. Was also where the D Day landings were planned.

Funny I thought they were always going to be in France :) :)

So anyone got a map for the rest of us?
