Send Randolph Williams an e-mail morrisminor1000@aol.com, he seems to know everyone in the USA who has a Minor and can point you in the best direction for parts/ repairs etc.

Good luck with your new car, and enjoy! It will be very different from American cars.

Don't worry about upsetting the Colonials with that! I have always been a fan of nice handling cars and have at least a couple of very nice ones (see my signature). I am an autocross racer and appreciate a car that can corner with aplomb.
And no, I didn't make it back home. I never actually made it out of the garage! I finally "persuaded" (that is, beat into submission) the fuel pump and started getting a supply of the go-juice. But that is when my good fortune ran out.
I am apparently not getting any spark, which I verified by pulling the spark plugs and looking at them optimistically in the dark. No luck. I pulled off the distributor cap and check for any corrosion, but all seems well there. I'm going to keep backtracking the electrics to see what I can find.
Mr. Lucas stepped in during the course of the repair and saw fit to render my previously operable fuel gauge and horn as useless extra weight. I love old British electrics...

Lucas parts seem to magically get less reliable when they cross the pond. Perhaps they need our damp weather to keep them running nicely. Try periodically spraying everything with water... ;)Sandalwood wrote:Mr. Lucas stepped in during the course of the repair and saw fit to render my previously operable fuel gauge and horn as useless extra weight. If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
As I'm sure you know the Moggie only has 2 fuses (as standard) and unless I keep my fuse box regulary clean and shiny all manner of things (horn, fuel gauge etc) stop working. On the way to the National (in the rain) I lost wipers, horn and fuel gauge - number 2 fuse had fell out !!!!
