Fuel tank

Post by DCat »

Should there be any form of sealant between the petrol tank and the body of the car? I know 'Dum Dum' was used for the timber and panels on the traveller, would this have been used?

A bead of Dum Dum works fine.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Just make sure that the tank is still earthed to the chassis otherwise your fuel sender will not work! We have had one chap on here who made such a good job of paint and insulation that the tank was isolated.
