What Colour...?

Post by croft »

What Colour......?
Hi all, just come across this forum and thought I would join and have a look at some of the questions and answers.. Makes interesting reading!
I have just purchased my \"First Minor\" and realised what was missing in my life!
Now to my question, my Minor is currently a \"Pale Blue\" (and rust!) with pale blue interior, my partner doesnt really like the colour and as she will be the main driver wants it changed. Im all for keeping it an original colour but she wants it \"a nice blue\" as I am taking th car back to bare metal a total change wont be a problem. I have seen some Minors done in Mettalics and other bright colours and unless they are \"Customs\" they look odd.
Anyone have any thoughts on what colours look good and would complement the pale blue seats? Thanks in advance, Croft

Teal Blue would be fine, as would Trafalgar Blue. Teal is very blue, while Trafalgar has a grey tint to it.

The Minor also looks good wearing some of the VW Blue colours. For a metallic colour, I would recommend Bentley Polychromatic Blue.

I would avoid metallics/poly etc - stick to good solid colour. Trafalgar blue would be my choice - although my own Traveller is Old English White!

"Trafalgar has a grey tint to it" - not to my eye, it doesn't. Try and have a look at the colours in the flesh

How about Royale Blue! :)

Personally I think it's a more attractive shade than Trafalgar without being over the top. I believe it is a 'period' colour even if BMC/BL never used it on Minors.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Hi Croft sounds like yours is Smoke Grey, it might be an idea to go to a few events with a bit of interior trim and see what you think is a good contrast.
Cheers
