Are there any differences to the ratios of the 803 and 948 gearboxes . what is the best combination to go for . Is the 948 gearbox better than the 803 (low rev wise)?. Also the oil filter that has come off the 803 gold seal has a male thread on it (Purolator) . Can this filter be purchased any more? or is there a kit out there that converts.

the 948 is by far the better gearbox - but has a remote control gearchange. You can swap parts to use the 803 change lever on a 948 box. Top gear ratio is straight through on both boxes. Yes-there are 803 filters around but hard to find.
