Todays the day!!

Post by muggwump »

I'm excited and a little nervous at the prospect of picking up my new 2 door saloon today :D :(
Been looking forward to it for the past week, a bit of an adventure, but the weather today is for heavy rain pretty much along the whole of the route from north wales back to Lincolnshire where I live, 160 miles!
Any tips you can give me about driving a totally standard minor in bad weather would be apprieciated. The car has just passed it's MOT and is in great condition...........I hope.

Switch the wipers to "on" and stay in the left hand lane ;)

Oh, and if you get into trouble near-ish to home, the place to get recovered to is Fendyke Garage at Toynton All Saints near Spilsby - my family have been going to Will for ~20+ years, and never had any problems.

p.s. bit late to ask now, isn't it - unless you have internet access at the other end?

Thanks for all the advice everyone. The juorney went without any dramas and it stayed reletivly dry!!
Car, (kids and wife haven't named him yet), drove lovelly and seemed to enjoy the twisty roads of the peak district causing me to remark out loud " this is what it's all about!". I was travelling alone.
It's a great feeling to be back in an old car.
Looking forward to many years of happy motoring and tinkering.
