convertible top
i'm writing for someone else, so i'm at a loss for specifics. a conv. top installer i just used(in the USA) has an old minor1000 in his shop(he doesn't know the year of the car). he has the top frame back together, but has questions.....is there a pad or padding that covers the spines? only one of the spines has holes in it, the others are solid. how would padding attach? is there a conv. top installation template anywhere? any tips on fabricating these tops? any info would be greatly appreciated. convertible installer located in minneapolis.

Yes he convertible did have soft tape on the hood frame to protect the hood from the metal and reduce the noise when air turbulance causes the hood to vibrate at high road speeds.
The rear hoop has two holes in to take self tapping screws through the material. This ensures that this loose hoop (it's separate from the main frame) rises with the hood and doesn't come into contact, and damage, the easily scuffed perspex window.

Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
