Well it would be if the MOT station could read a VIN (they missed the first 5 characters) and also I havent got a cover note yet and they wont accept a fax!!!
Im off to spain REAL early in the morning and I get back at 1AM on Mon. Now the national is on the following weekend and mona isnt registered yet. I see a photo finish in the offing!

This pic is during the pannel beating. The rear lamp hole was a vertical slot and now its in high build primer waiting for blocking and top coat (oh and some silly sod has tapped the drivers door too so id better do that too) Image

Clipper blue 4-doors FTW!

Ver' nice :)

Out of interest, what's the grey twist-switch to the left of the instruments? Trafficators?

That is no switch my friend, I got it with the car and was told that it was an accesory on early cars because the barrel for the ignition had the key number on it, This "chunk" (basically a magnet with a handle on it) goes over the ignition barrel to hide the number.
Ive never seen another and everyone who notices it asks what it is :)

Good ol' brittish engineering :d

i would like to add my congratulations to Ash for the work he has put in, he has been working his behind off to get it ready for the national (fingers crossed) Mona looks really great in the flesh so to speak.
The colour of my Mea is so close to Mona. Would anyone care to comment on the difference. ........i thought Mea was smoke grey but clipper blue has been mentioned in this thread.

Rob, we'll have to put the two cars side by side and use others as a reference, you can have three cars all trafalgar blue and three different shades, depends on who mixed it if the paint has faded and whether its 2pack or celly.

aaarrrggghhh I think I might cry! I submitted the V5 application on monday with a promiced 2 day turnaround. Just called to try and find out if the number is asssigned and the Docs ready for collection.
NOPE!!! They want to do an inspection! I suspect that its due to the missing prefix on the chassis number on the MOT because it is present on the original V5!
They booked an appointment for me on the 25th but I can get one tomorow but obviously ill need to trailler the car there and its only for a 15 minute inspection! meaning an 80 mile round trip! GRRR!

Im waiting for a call back to see if they will accept an inspection from an MMOC official. *fingers crossed*
