Query: Interior 1963 Minor 2 dr Saloon

Post by nejpearson »

In the future, cost permitting, I would like to refit the interior of my Minor 1000 (pictured below), as the vinyl, carpets, parcelshelf and roof lining have not been finished to the same standard as the rest of the car!

Upon browsing the internet, I found a company which sold 'duotone' vynle seat covers and panels for Minors made between 1962-64.

My 1963 Minor 2 dr saloon has been restored in the past with the same interior trim available from '64 onwards.

Were all Morris Minors made between 62-64 fitted with 'duotone' trim, or has mine been restored with the later more readily available trim used from '64 to '71 ???

Does anbody know?!

I think I am right in saying that the duo-tone seats were only fitted to the de-luxe models and between roughly 62 -64. These can still be ordered from Morris Suppliers They came in blue/cream material red/cream material and green/material. Try ESM or Bull Motif who will mail order them to you.

Personally speaking I love the duotone interior. The first Minor I looked at was a 63 with a 1098 - the best combination... duotone and nice pull switches.
