Commercial chassis number

Post by dean36014 »

My chassis number on my '71 commercial begins
A/AVC/10V
Does this mean its an
Austin
A series engine
Van
Austin commercial.
If so, not bad as it was a pick up when i bought it with a Morris badge on the bonnet
What does the 10V stand for, or does it mean nothing.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you plate is not a genuine one as it should read
AAVC/xxxxxx followed by a 6 figure number the 10 V relates to the engine

It is possible it started life as a van and was converted, failing that the U could have bcome a V with the passage of time, post some images or e-mail and I will help you all I can
