rally window sticker

Post by aupickup »

just got my rally pack
what happened to the nice window stickers we used to have that were plastic sticky thing that went on the windscreen

all we have now it seems is a bit of cardboard and a long thin sticker saying please note the back peels off

being the 60 th i would have thought it would have been a really nice window sticker

:( :(

I must admit I looked through my rally documents a few times, thinking that the entry sticker was missing, before I realised that you have to stick a piece of card on the outside of the windscreen. I hope it doesn't rain heavily on my way to Stanford Hall :-?

Economy drive I suppose :(

Are you talking about the little yellow ticket that says 'Entry Pass' on it? Is that what they mean by Windscreen Sticker? Mine doesn't say anything about the back peeling off and it doesn't have any glue on it.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Yes, it's the yellow ticket.

There's a small piece of paper included in the rally documents saying "Entry Pass: Please note the back of this ticket peels off".

It's a bit fiddly but you can peel the back off - you just need long fingernails :-?

Ah, you're right, after fiddling with it a bit longer I managed to peel the back off the ticket. I wouldn't have guessed if aupickup hadn't mentioned it (no small piece of paper in my pack).

You'd think it would be logical to refer to the item by the same name in both places rather than 'windscreen sticker' on the letter and 'entry pass' on the thing itself...

It will have to go inside the window rather than outside BTW, because the glue is on the backing. They are a bit like a pay and display parking ticket.

It was much nicer having a proper window sticker - you could put it in your windscreen in advance of the National to advertise the event. This one is unlikely to stay stuck on for very long. And it's a shame that it has a picture of Stanford Hall on it rather than a Minor. I suppose I expected something a bit special for the 60th anniversary :(

Dancing dogs aren't cheap Dennis. You can't expect to be entertained and have a nice windscreen sticker

ah yes forgot about the dogs :D :D :D

oh well, i still would have thought that of all years , this year would have been the most important to advertise the 60th birthday of the morris minor, and felt that a nice sticker we could display in the window like other years would have been a good idea

is this really the MMOC

That's because there's no judging this year.

Well there's always the Scottish pipe band, rhythmic gymnastics or the Fleur-de-lys majorettes if you don't like dogs or clowns :D

On the positive side, the camp site is so far away from the rally site it is probably out of range of the tannoy

All,

The windscreen stickers needed to be different this year as we have three entry points, 1) Yellow for those camping, 2) Green for "day tripers" 3) Blue for Branch Avenue and Cars on Display. This made it uneconomic to produce the usual windscreen stickers, which was a shame!

However a lot of people keep scrap books of the event which the other stickers were no use for!

I'm afraid I have to agree. I've still got my proper London 2 Brighton sticker on and people comment as to if it really made it that far!

Is it too late to get some made?

And with the car featuring on it, not Stanford Hall! I realise a lot of work has gone into this [for which I am grateful] and I have done none of the work......but I have paid. As regards dogs and clowns [not really my cuppa tea] ......the phrase comes to mind..... 'you can't please all the people all of the time' .....
