LCV Chassis Number Decyphering?

Post by Packedup »

I know the registration of the pickup (or at least, the plate I found ties to what I know of the history of the vehicle), but a chassis plate has been unearthed.

I'm still waiting to hear about getting the original paperwork so don't actually know the chassis number, I'm wondering if what I've found is correct.But of course, I have no idea what the various codes mean!

The plate is a BL one, type is M-AV5.

Does anyone know what that means!? To the best of my knowledge the pickup was an Austin van when it came off the line, in 1971. Any help figuring out if this is the original chassis plate wouldbe much appreciated :)

M = Morris
A - A Series engine
V = Van
5 = 1098cc

So definitely *not* an Austin Minor van then? :(

Annoying, as it would've been nice to have the chassis number as well as the registration number for the pickup! Would have made getting a V5 easier too I imagine.
