Yep, they're too narrow and they dont follow the profile of the door properly! I bought one in September last year to do the offside of the car, and that was abismall. I spent hours reshaping it, it would have made more sense to make one myself!
The other one for the nearside which I bought in February of this year though was a much better fit!

Exactly my method so far while doing my repairs.chickenjohn wrote:LMC Hadrian- are OK, while not always perfect are usually good enough to use on the underside without too much fiddling. For wings, doors etc, I prefer to make up sections/ buy repair sections and repair any rust rather than replace a perfectly good fitting wing.

Hi
that really is a lot of work..i paid £150 for mine (1968 2-door) and thankfully the sil's and A posts had been done and it came with new steel wings front and rear, mind you i've been working on it for 12 months (on and off) and only yesterday did i manage to finish the front end welding, you can frabricate panels/patches yourself out of 2.5 or 2mm steel sheet, but (and i'm no expert) you are going to need to buy many panels and it's not just a case of buy and weld on, you can't weld new panels onto old rusty metal and this is where i found myself asking " is this really worth doing ?" having told myself it was (just) twelve months on i still ask myself this question. a project like this is about commitment. if your going to do it then you need to do it properly if your hearts not totally in it from the start then you will soon start trying to cut corners and on a project like this your not going to be able to.
i hate to see moggies scrapped and it is repairable but you need to ask yourself lots of questions before you start.
but if it wasn't for scrapped moggies many of us wouldn't have been able to get ours on the road.
good luck.
p.s if you do scrap it can i have the wing mirrors lol.!!
only joking, i really hope that you get this project going, the good thing about doing a moggie is that there are lots of others who have done the same thing and all the chaps on this site are a great source of information and inspiration.
your not alone..!
good luck

If it was me I'd do the same as chicken john recommended - survey the whole car before you start spending.
Your sills look scary, but they are not much more work than replacing a slightly rotted sill, as the panels are the same regardless. The inner sill sections that have the floor edge included may avoid you having to replace the floors.
I'd bet that the centre cross member needs new ends but it's fairly easy to DIY.
The front inner wings are also easy to DIY, but for the A-posts and door gaps, a lot of care is needed.
The one thing I've not seen in your pics yet is the rear arch bolting seem. That is a hard job if you want it to finish up neat. So if you need to do those and a lot of other stuff, I'd be looking for another one that has more redeeming qualities.

Damn right it is, Ive just about finished doing that on my 4 door, and im going to have to enlarge the wing holes because the repair panels have the mounting holes in the wrong position, despite seriously careful measurement and centre marking the panels just wouldnt line up and fit right unless i ended up with each hole roughly 5mm off centre

As far as I'm aware, this relates to one particular supplier.the country of origin of what I put
We (moderators) had a recent telling off (again) for allowing comments outside the T&C's. The issue isn't about whether the comments are justified, more about the threats of legal action that the club has received from this.

Am I right in reading (sorry for the OT post) that a certain company of which I might be rather too closely involved in chasing for monies has threatened the club with legal action over the quality of its parts?
If so, can I please go over here and laugh hysterically for a while.
