I took the nearside front shock off the van yesterday with the intention of fitting a telescopic kit I,ve bought. But!!
The outer set of bolts (against the wing) seem to have two possible bolt positions connected by a sloping hole (approx. 45 degree slot, holes approx half inch apart) now I presume this has been done sometime in the past to get around stripped captive threads, but would like confirmation that it is a fix, i.e. that the standard set up is one hole in a single round hole.
Regards
Bern
Wish I,d taken a picture while it was off but I was so wazzed off I just put it back together as was ans went for a beer!

Front shock absorber mounts
I'll see you on the otherside'!
I think he's talking about the two nearest the outside of the car. I'd always assumed the slot arrangement was there for the same reason as the two spare holes towards the middle, which I believe were put there for a different shock which was more robust and intended for some export markets, but never fitted to production models.FrankM83 wrote:if you're refering to the outer two holes (nearest to the battery box) it seems or I think that Morris used this same crossemember for both Minor and OXford MO as I got a set of MO front shocks which fit perfectly in those holes
