The main bonnet release is a wire handle under the far right-hand side of the dashboard, near the driver's right knee. You pull on it and the bonnet pops open far enough to get to the safety catch.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Nope cant find it. You said a wire to pull to the far right side neer the knee. Is it neer the black box thing in the middle under the dash?. Keep in mind that the car is left hand drive. Would this make any diffrence?. Also how would i go about getting the bonit open if the mechanism is broken?.
Thanks

OK, if it is LHD then it will be near the passenger's right knee. I think the handle is very unlikely to be missing.

Yes, the earth lead of the battery should be connected to the body of your car as the earth return goes through the car chassis.
Buy a better torch or a lead lamp!
BTW, turn the engine using the starting handle and squirt a little oil in the spark plug holes before attempting to start the engine.

Has it got an alternator, radio, or electronic ignition fitted?

Well ive yet to find the radio in it. well i havent messed around inside yet but i dont think one is there. For electrical ignition im not sure what yyou mean it uses spark plug yes. If you mean does it use a coil then im not sure . As for the alternator im not sure either but i have this pic frm google wich has what i have

I also have that thing ontop i think might be a coil. Sorry i dont have much info on it. If been abandond is a field to rock for some time and the owner didnt know anything about it just that he wanted it gone.
