Car won't stop running confession!

Post by Squiggle »

I offered Roger Rust 'silence money' not to tell you all........

The truth to my engine that wouldn't stop running at the order of the ignition key....was...

[If you read the history, I replaced a fuse].

*Edited by Andrew on let's not tell everybody who wants to nick one' grounds*

Mentioned it to Roger as he had invited me to his home to check out the switch before I bought a replacement. He identified it immediately. I am so grateful for the generosity from so many of you.

What a surprise. And a pleasure to meet his lovely wife Bev.

An interesting and slightly embarassing learning curve.

Good night all.

Well its been edited... but I suspect I know what the problem was now! Something to do with misplaced wiring?

Best not to try and even guess. Was a silly mistake that's all. Hence the

Had to come clean as RogerRust was getting threatening about the 'silence money' [JOKE!].

Maybe we could start a thread on the best/worst bungles we've made on our cars........??

Or embarassing moments? Nothing rude of course.

Years ago an AA man put a rug over my traveller engine and invited me to lean under it with him. I was a bit shy and refused as I felt he was getting a bit familiar.....well I was young way back then.....

He explained he just wanted to show me the sparks jumping along the leads.....

This rust bucket broke down on Brighton seafront after closing time one Friday night. 4 burly policeman pushed it home.....up hill approx 3/4 mile.
I think they took pity on me. A 'good runner'
