Cheapskate requires help with telescopic front shocks

Post by leyther8008 »

Ok I admit it I,m tight! but when the chance came to buy a N.O.S. kit for the front of the minor cheap I bought it.
Now problem is the sheet of diagrams that came with the kit are so old and done on a gestetner type machine that all that is left is a blank sheet of a4 paper
So has anybody got a good set of instructions? or could someone pop off a couple of shots of your installation and post them for me?
The kit was originaly supplied by the company whos name is also a famous film distributors (mem gee mem, just in case I'm not allowed to mention them by proper name)!
Any help with regards to the size and position of the slot to be cut and the drillings for the smaller bracket would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Bern

If you don't have any luck you could always ask the afore mentioned company if they could let you have a copy.

Thanks for that, I will e-mail them if all else fails, but I,ve never seen one installed anywhere and a picture is worth a thousand words as they say!

you're welcome.

I think this is what this site is all about. You asked for info and within a few hours you get it. If it isn't going to cost you anything to help someone then why not, eh.

This looks (to me) a very poor method of mounting to the inner wing - and I suggest instead you use a properly fabricated bracket arrangement welded to the inner wing rather than a slot and two bolts!

I welded fabricated brackets on instead of what was supplied, agree totally with bmc.

Yes - there were pics etc of that on here just recently - the two bolt/slot job looks very unsatisfactory.
