Wheels but not Minor ones.....
Hi, do any of you folks know what wheels will fit the Minor hub? They have to be 14". The problem is I have some nice, new hubcaps from the states and they wont fit properly.
Many Thanks, BillyG

If the American caps don't fit the original wheels, I very much doubt that they'd fit the van wheels - I think the centres are the same as the car wheels, it's just that the rims are wider.
Are the hubcaps repro Minor ones? If so, they might just be a bit of a tight fit. I've had this problem with Stainless Steel hubcaps. A whack with a hammer usually gets them on, if not dents them into the bargain...

Thanks for the replies.
To be honest, it's not the centres that are causing the problem, it's the rims. The teeth thingys that hold the hubcaps on are sort of bottoming out because the rims are'nt wide/deep enough. It's not the kind of hubcap that fit's on the centre bit but one's that grip inside the rim...if that makes sense.

Sounds like you're talking about rim embellishers rather than hub caps. Do they look like these:

The ones you've got from the US probably aren't designed to fit Minor wheels, hence the problem Rather than changing your wheels it may be better (and cheaper) to change the embellishers

Hi, no, they are not like those, but the fitting will be almost the same as those, ie, push fit onto the rim. Im not sure if I can give you my website on here, but if I could, there is a photo of some on there. They are the type that covers most of the wheel. The hubcaps fit on the rear wheels ok (Jag) because the rim of the wheel is much wider so it really is the Minor Saloon wheel that isnt deep enough, in fact, I can see them there teeth things touching the dish of the wheel. If anyone lives not too far from me (Audlem. CW3 OES) and has a Van wheel and wouldnt mind me trying my disc on it, I'd be very grateful.
They were a birthday gift from the States and I found out how much they cost. Believe me, it's going to be cheaper to find two Van rims!!!
Thanks for the replies and help folks

I think you might be talking about Moon Discs? like these? http://www.mooneyesusa.com/Store/index. ... ee80fbcba8 If so I have also had the same problem with the disc fouling on the center of the wheel and not pushing on all the way. Van rims are a good bet.

Hi Benno, no, not like them....well, sort of.
The fittings on those Moon discs are the same though, and that's the problem, them there teeth fixy on things, not the centre of the wheel as such. Yeah, Van rims most likely are my answer, has anyone got one (fairly near to me) so I can try please?
Thanks again for all the help so far. Billy
