Was wondering if some kind of "stone guard" was used before spraying the inside of the boot space of an original series II, I found some on mine any ideas please?

Bondaglass do a stonechip that gives an 'orange peel' effect which can be overpainted. The end result is very original looking.

What about Hammeriite "hammered" finish paint also gives that effect.

So we all agree that the boot area was not a smooth finish originally, right? And one other thing please, was it coloured according to the car colour or just black to all?

It was the same colour as the car.
